Internship Report

The internship is a transitional period before graduates enter the job. It is also the grindstone for students to cultivate their work ability. So it is particularly important for every student seize this great internship opportunity to learn practical terms which is quite beneficiary to the future career. Of course, I’m deeply aware of that. So before I begin my internship I’m determined both in thought and cation to be a good intern who was eager to do internship and good at do excellent internship. Only in that way can my work ability and skills be improved, then can my internship be a successful completion. The following is the internship report .

I get the the opportunity of internship after an interview by myself. The company which i worked was Triad Mechanical and Electrical Equipment Co., Ltd. My position in the company was website editor. My position needs the integrated use of the Dreamweaver web production , Photoshop graphic design to achieve the perfect display of the products and publishment of the information of our company. The main requirements of my duty including: taking photos of products, using the Photoshop image processing tools to process the photos, then uploading the photos to the home page of the company. I also should edit detailed descriptions of the products, publish company news matters on the website and update the home page of our company. My internship date is from February 15th to May 10th in 2012.

The website editor internship is an important part for students who specialize

in the Network Interactive Media. Internship not only can enable me to get a better understanding the related knowledge about website editor, but also get familiar with and even master site editor, together with Photoshop graphic design processes and some precautions. Certainly it is a good way to train myself into a proficient in using the various tools of the website editor. What’s more, I expect that I can broaden my comprehensive knowledge, then use the knowledge to analyze and solve practical problems in specific website editor as well as in real social life. All that can lay a solid foundation for my the future work which I can do it very skillfully。Only by my personal experience through internships can I get a profound understanding of the network editing and put the skills into practical use.

In the first day of my internship, at the beginning I didn’t really know what to do and how to get down to my own business. I knew it would be totally wrong if the other staff were buy with their work while I was doing nothing. So I had to take the initiative to ask the experienced employees to instruct me how to do my job well. Fortunately, they were very friendly. Firstly, they showed me around the whole company together with introduction of the culture of the company. Then, they gave me the general description of the basic business procedure. Lastly, they were patient to teach me how to do my website editor.

During the internship in the company, most of my job is applying the web editing software Dreamweaver and Photoshop image processing technology to edit the website. At first, I took it for granted that I should focus on the details of the products without any emphasis. Then the manager pointed out my mistake

and provided some valuable advice. I followed the advice and began to put more focus on seasonal, aesthetic and the strongly promoted products by the company. I made the description of the products close to consumers as can as possible and insert a picture to illustrate the instruction of the products.

To be more specific, the first thing to do every day to design and edit text about description of the company products. I usually chose the the aesthetic picture or seasonal and competitive products on the forefront. These pictures were the most likely to attract consumers, which could greatly improve the sales of the company. Gradually, I came to understand how to explore the customers’ psychology. Then took advantage of it to attract them to browse our website. Every week I updated the contents and typesetting of home page, edited the website from the perspective of art by using knowledge and skills learned at school and in the company. It seemed that the page content contribute little to the performance and profit of the company. In fact, it has a direct impact on the level of the of the professional in terms of the entire page content. Therefore, I usually selected the most appropriate picture and constantly modified and improved the description texts. I was profoundly aware of being an qualified website editor was by no means just about typing, cut and paste. I really should be innovative and creative.

During the internship , under the leadership of manager and the help of colleagues , I was growing up and learned a lot. Not only was work ability improved , but also got familiar with the website editor and accumulated knowledge in social communication, the ways of handling interpersonal

relationship. The followings are what I have learned:

Firstly, anyone at any time in the workplace should not forget to learn and improve their professional knowledge and proficiency. I have learned various application of many softwares for website building which are not just restricted to the school learning. I deeply realize that I need not only broaden expertise, but also apply that knowledge proficiently.

Secondly, it is completely necessary that acting with a good plan. Everyday I came to the office, the first and foremost thing was making a good plan of my work. It could improve efficiency of work. We’d better divide a plan into small sections, finish them one by one in order to ensure the high quality of the outcome.

Thirdly, it is essential that every staff should hold on to the teamwork spirit. In other words, all the staff should cooperate with each other and unit as a whole. A department is also a small group, everyone is like small parts of a machine. Only when we work together can operation of this machine be smooth and effective. Each segment of the company should fully cooperate with each other by mutual understanding, mutual correction.

Fourthly, the logical thinking is very important. Although most of the job is about the text or photos, it should be organized very clearly and logically. Because every specific site have special goals to achieve and special function to perform, any defect can spoil the effects of the promotion.

Fifthly, apart form the the knowledge related with the actual website editor knowledge, we should put great emphasis on proper handling interpersonal relationship. The communication skills among collogues or between employer and employee are quite important. These skills can not be taught at class, it requires us to learn from daily social activity.

Last but not least, we should get rid of bad habits and overcome shortcomings. At work, we should kick off bad habits such as laziness, procrastination. Instead, it is urgent to form some good habits if we want to successful in work. In the process of getting along with everyone, I found that the others served as a mirror which reflecting my own advantages and disadvantages. Everyone has weakness and shortcomings, but we have to strive to overcome them. Although I'm not perfect , I strive for perfection !

Time was passing by silently, my internship came to an end very quickly. I must claim that it is worthy to do this short-term internship. Short as it is, the rewarding is uncountable and the impact on my life will be long. The time I spent during the internship is exciting, joyous and memorable. I like the job every much, I would accept the position if the company offers me a chance to become a member of it. Then I would like to make a short summary of the whole internship.

I have experienced and learned a lot which I can never get in the campus. I have foud my strength and weakness about my ability. I will pay attention to them. It is the first time that I feel I am a grown-up adult. I can solve problems independently even without my parents or teachers, classmates beside. I firmly

believe that I can be self-reliant not only to make a living but also help others out of their trouble in the near future. Any work I choose to do, I will do it with great enthusiasm and concentration. It is imperative to be responsible for every promise we make or every action we take.

Once I studied at school, I always put all my heart to gain knowledge as much as possible but exclusive to all other social skills. Now, I have learned from the internship that some abilities are far more important than book knowledge.For instance, communication skills, organizational ability, independent

problem-solving abilities are quite vital in a successful business conduct. After all, the general knowledge we learned from class mostly are theoretical. But the key to success to to apply the theory to practice. We can never neglect the significance of interpersonal skills. This is my weak point when compared with other experienced colleagues. So I will constantly improve this in my future career.
