摘要：Apparatus and methods for quantitatively determining laxity and kinematics ofhuman and animal joints are described. An anterior draw force appliance facilitatesapplication of a constant displacement force during movement of a joint such that theforce is independent of position of the moving limb. A rotation appliance facilitatesapplication of constant torque to a joint during to movement of the joint so that torqueis independent of position of the moving limb. A non-invasive, surface mount techniquefor coupling position sensors to the bones, of a joint provides for accurate positionsensing of the bones during joint flexure. An instrumented splint enables application ofquantifiable abduction moments and torque moments to a is joint. A control systemenables measurement of six degrees of freedom of the bones of a joint during jointflexure.
