摘要：The present invention, when displaying a main image and a sub image
simultaneously or in a switching manner, displays them in accordance with a display modewith an appropriate image quality. An image processing unit includes: a first featureamount calculation unit for calculating a feature amount of main image data; a secondfeature amount calculation unit (25) for calculating a feature amount of sub image data;an image quality adjustment unit (26) for performing image quality adjustment on resizedsub image data; and a display image data generation unit for generating display imagedata for displaying the main image and the sub image simultaneously or in a switchingmanner, from the main image data and adjusted sub image data, in accordance withdisplay mode information. The image quality adjustment unit (26) performs the imagequality adjustment so that a difference between a feature amount of the adjusted subimage data and the feature amount of the main image data is smaller than a difference
between the calculated feature amount of the sub image data and the feature amount ofthe main image data. The image quality adjustment unit (26), when performing the imagequality adjustment for each content item, updates the feature amount of the main imagedata used in the image quality adjustment, at the timing of change of the content item.
