摘要：A side panel which is openably and closably mounted on a bed (1) of a loadcarrying vehicle includes a pipe (2) in which a compression coil spring (9) is disposed withits one end secured to the pipe. The other end of the compression coil spring is
connected to a guide plate (12) movable through a slot in the pipe and pivotably coupledto a link (8) pivotably connected to a frame (7). The side panel can be angularly movedbetween the open and closed positions witn a small manual force with the aid of theresiliency of the compression coil spring (9). The secured end of the compression coilspring is positionally adjustable within the pine so tnat the resilient force of thecompression coil spring can be varied. The compression coil spring is held in frictionalengagement with the pipe to allow the side panel to be brought to a stop at any desiredposition between the open and closed positions.
