摘要：A positioning device for positioning or an open MRI magnetic probe including an
open MRI magnet in a plurality of positions and for controllably moving the probebetween these positions. The positions include at least one imaging position of the openprobe which allows the performing of magnetic resonance imaging procedures andsurgical procedures on a body part, either sequentially or simultaneously, withoutmoving the probe from the imaging position. The plurality of positions may include oneor more positions in which the probe is retracted away from the body part to Increasethe accessibility of the body part and to allow for use of magnetic field sensitive devicesto be positioned near the body part. The positioning device includes a movable
framework attachable to the probe and a position control unit operatively connected tothe movable framework for controlling the moving of the framework. The frameworkmay be motorized but may also include manually movable parts. The device is capable ofmoving the probe from one position to another with one or more degrees of freedom.The device may be adapted for repeatedly and accurately positioning the probe selectedpositions. Magnetic resonance imaging systems including the positioning device are alsodisclosed.
