Halloween is a holiday celebrated by Western cultures every year on the night of October 31. Traditional activities include trick-or-treating, bonfires, and costume parties, visiting \"haunted houses\" and carving jack-o-lanterns. Halloween is one of the oldest holidays with origins going back thousands of years. Irish immigrants took Halloween customs from Europe to the USA. Today, in the USA and UK in particular, Halloween has become a special occasion for young people. In these countries, children wear spooky costumes and go from door to door saying “Trick or treat!” and they are given sweets to take home.
