College Life is Both Exciting and Frustrating
When we was still in high school, the teachers frequently told us that college life would be colorful and meaningful and could make our dream come true. So we worked hard to contribute to college entrance. Till today, I have lived a college life for one year. Looking back to what I have experienced the last year, I come to the conclusion that college life is both exciting and frustrating.
On the one hand, college life is full of excitement. It’s the first time I leave my parents and live alone. I can do what I want to do, eat what I want to taste, go where I want to travel and learn what I am really interested in. In addition, I can make abundant friends coming from all corners of the country so that I can have more knowledge about our culture and custom around the country. On the top of the excitement, I can read some meaningful stuff and attend some academic activities, which conduce to shaping my personality.
On the other hand, college life is also full of bitter. In the beginning of the college year, I didn’t anyone, anything here which meant I was totally a stranger here and I felt lonely now and then, but I couldn’t find someone to listen to my heart. This was the most painful period of my college years. Maybe it will stick to my memory forever. Now, I have already been familiar with my surrounding, and I wouldn’t feel lonely again, but I am still feeling frustrated. Although I love my major, I am not really good at it. My spoken English is so poor that I dare not to speak English with others, especially foreigners. My listening skill is so low that I always can’t catch up with others. What’s worse, there are so many homework
to do that I have no time to make up to what I am absent in English learning.
In a word, college life is colorful and has good aspect as well as bad aspect.
