The Spring Festival is coming. Mum and Dad are busy with doing shopping. My sister and I are doing housework. We are cleaning the rooms.
Today is the last day of the year. We call it New Year’s Eve. My parents invite my grandparents and relatives to our home. They are coming this afternoon. Mum is cooking in the kitchen and Dad is helping her. My sister and I are cleaning up the sitting-room and dining-room. We are getting ready for family dinner. At about six o’clock we have dinner. There’s lots of tasty food and drink. The whole family get together for the Spring Festival. How happy we are!
My sister and I love New Year’s Eve. Usually we must go to bed before nine. But on New Year’s Eve we can stay up until after midnight.
After dinner we watch TV together. The TV show is interesting and colorful.
Just before midnight, everyone counts the seconds until twelve o’clock. We all shout ”Ten, nine, eight…two, one.” The bell is ringing, we are all very excited. We let off fireworks, sing and dance hand in hand. Soon after that we are going to bed. New Year’s Eve is the best night of the year.
