M：珍妮弗小姐，我是康大集团的人事部经理，非常高兴您能从英国远道而来，我很高兴能代表公司在这里为您举办晚宴。I：Hello, Miss Jennifer. I’m the manager of Human Resources, the Kangda Group. I’m very happy that you have come all the way from Britain. And it gives me a great pressure to hold this banquet in honor of you on behalf of my company.
J: It’s very kind of you. Thank you for your invitation. I’ve heard that Chinese food is very delicious. I can’t wait to enjoy it. What are we expecting tonight? D: 您太客气了，感谢您的邀请，我听说中国菜味道很不错，我已经迫不及待想要吃了，请问今晚有什么好吃的吗？M：我们今天吃中国菜系之一的广东菜，希望您会喜欢。I：Tonight we’ve prepared one of eight types of Chinese food-Cantonese food. I hope you will like it.
J: Terrific. I’d heard that Cantonese food has long history with different kinds of cooking techniques. Can you tell me more about Cantonese food? D: 太棒了。我听说广东菜历史悠久，并且烹饪技术多样善变。您能告诉我更多广东菜的特色吗？
M：与中国北方的口味不同，我们南方的菜肴不偏辣反而注重新鲜和滑嫩，因此，广东人都爱喝汤，吃海鲜。I：Different from northern tastes in China, the southern dishes focus on freshness and tenderness rather than spiciness. So Cantonese like soup and seafood very much.
J: It sounds great! D: 听起来很诱人！
M：菜上了，来尝尝我们的招牌菜吧。我们有上汤云吞，腰果肉丁和叫化鸡，都是有名的广东菜。I：Here we are. Please have a taste of our special cuisine, such as Wonton soup, diced pork with cashew nuts, and baggers chicken. These foods are all famous here.
J: The dinner is so delicious. The dishes are complete with color, aroma and flavor. I couldn’t say anymore but thank you for your hospitality. D: 这顿晚餐太美味了。而且菜都色香味俱全，除了感谢您的热情，我已经不能再用语言表达了。
M：我很高兴您喜欢这顿饭，就让我们好好享受晚餐吧！I：I’m glad that you like the dishes. Let’s enjoy our dinner time.
