摘要：A process and a device for the continuous chipping of timbers of differentlength. To increase the chipping performance, in the execution of the sawing cut ordirectly thereafter, at least one supporting element for supporting the leading end faceof a long timber pack and the posterior end face of a short timber pack is directed intothe sawing plane. Directly adjoining the short timber pack, a just sawn- off short timberpack, together with the supporting element enclosed between them, is conveyedforward by one advancement cycle in the same direction. The supporting element,following the conclusion of the advancement cycle, is conveyed back into the directing-inarea of the sawing plane, and each short timber pack is supportingly transported, freefrom any structural distortion, up to the chipping tool.
