2.APPLICATION FIELDS
It applies to parts or assembled items, manufactures of raw sheet metal or pre-coated, from internal or external PSA suppliers (articles 97X) and used in all of the groups establishments. The provisions concern: • •
the quality of embossed parts originating from the external or internal PSA suppliers. the manufacturing, the maintenance and the storing of these same parts.
The requirements concern: • their transport, • •
the supplementary protections in the CKD flows.
The quality criteria impose that all parts are healthy, especially from the point of view of their aspect when
assembled in vehicle. Consequently, the structure parts must be object to the same care as the skin parts; they have to benefit from the same protection treatments.
The sheets and steel flat products must comply with the requirements of norme B53 3050. Notes:
•
3. PROVISIONS ON THE QUALITY OF EMBOSSED PARTS ORIGINATING FROM EXTERIOR OR INTERIOR OF PSA
These parts must have a homogenous appearance, without corrosion traces nor suspect stains, the first metal corrosion stage being the metal tarnishing. •
On naked steel, the corrosion is expressed by the formation of brown-red ferrous oxide, very characteristic, that appears first locally by spots and then extends to all the metal’s surface. This evolution is very fast when the favorable conditions for the development of the corrosion persist.
On the coated steel (galvanized or electrolytic zinc coated), the corrosion is apparent by the formation of white zinc oxide, called \"white rust\". This oxide, initially invisible disturbs the welding operations and can affect the quality of the paint coating.
•
In the case when the supplier assures the delivery of parts until the concerned PSA site in the next 15 days following their embossing, the residual rolling oil is enough to assure an anticorrosive protection. No additional protection is required.
In the case when the supplier doesn't assure the parts delivery within 15 days after their embossing, the supplier must apply an additional protection in order to guarantee healthy parts upon their arrival on the PSA site. This protection can be an additional oiling performed by spraying in an adapted chamber. Note that this type of oiling assures only a limited protection with time and does assure its function only on the surfaces effectively treated.
This protection can also consist in parts packaging with corrosion inhibitor materials (covers and/ or papers). The oil present on the embossed parts (residual rolling oil and/or additive oil) must comply with the requirements of norme B74 6240 and with technical reference MXP_CEB00_0009 concerning the embossing oils.

B15 6020 3/6 ANTICORROSION PROTECTION REQUIREMENTS
The oil film must be uniform, with a gramage between 1.5 and 2 g/m2. It must be compatible with the manufacture procedures of the iron plating and painting workshops, that is to say: • • • • • • •
to allow welding,
not to emit noxious or aggressive vapors when welded,
not to sustain the gliding of the filer adhesives and of the glues applied before degreasing, be easily to eliminate in the surface processing tunnels of the paint bases, to be compatible with the cataphoresis,
to be compatible with the other additional protection products, to be compatible with the glues polymerization.
These requirements have to be checked in laboratory or by means of practical tests on series installations.
4. PROVISIONS FOR THE MANUFACTURE, THE MAINTENANCE AND THE STORAGE OF THE EMBOSSED PARTS ORIGINATING FROM PSA EXTERIOR OR INTERIOR
4.1. ENVIRONMENT IN THE MANUFACTURE WORKSHOPS AND IN THE STORAGE
WAREHOUSES
The following conditions must be applied in order to render the building healthy compared to corrosion: • •
the building must be dry; there mustn’t be any water infiltration, the walls and the roofs must be sealed against the rain even if violent; the relative humidity must remain lower than 60%.
the temperature must be as constant possible and above all it hasn’t to vary brutally in order to avoid the condensation of the humidity. Moreover, it doesn’t have to descend below the threshold of 12° C: the relative humidity percentage increases when the temperature drops and the dew point is reached more rapidly when the temperature is low (see appendix 1).
the manufacture maintenance and storage areas must be inaccessible to vehicles coming from outside the buildings in order to keep a dry soil and a healthy atmosphere.
the gaseous pollutants (exhaust vapors especially) are accelerators of the corrosion speed, thus must be
avoided. Only machines and chariots with electrical engines are authorized to circulate in the warehouses and workshops.
the dusts, even inert ones, have to be avoided; when they fall on the parts, they retain the humidity and play the role of a humid buffer.
the air currents have to be avoided; they lead to brutal variations of humidity and temperature rates and also the diffusion of gaseous pollutants and of the dusts present in the atmosphere.
the forced-air heating has to be avoided and also the storage of parts near air injection orifices.
the brightness has to be feeble; there is the risk of photochemical degradation of the protective oil especially by the U.V. that leads to a fall of the protective performances and protection removal difficulties. The parts storage behind windowed facades or under atrium windows is prohibited.

4.2.MAINTENANCE OF THE PARTS
For personnel safety reasons, the use of gloves is also perfectly justified form the point of view of anticorrosion.
4.3.CONTAINERS
These must be clean and totally dry at the moment of their use. When they are soaked, the drying must be accomplished outside the manufacturing and storing areas.
4.4.PRODUCTS USED DURING MANUFACTURE These must have the agreement of the authorized services.

4.5.STORING DURATION
Containers tagging, mentioning the manufacture and/or reception date, must be accomplished in order to assure their traceability.
Counting from the reception date on the concerned PSA site of the embossed parts, the maximum storing duration before protection by application of paint or CKD conditioning mustn’t exceed 4 weeks, in an environment observing the conditions described in paragraph 4.1.
Beyond that deadline, an additional protection has to be applied, in the form of an additional oiling carried out by spraying in an adapted chamber or by means of corrosion inhibitor materials (covers and/or papers).
4.6. TOUCH-UP PARTS
When the oily protection of a piece or part of a piece was eliminated (especially the case of the disked areas) and the application of paint on the part isn’t imminent, a protection operation is indispensable. It can be carried out with a paintbrush, a pad or by pulverization with recommended oil.
5. TRANSPORT CONDITIONS REQUIREMENTS OF THE EMBOSSED PARTS ORIGINATING FROM OUTSIDE OR INSIDE PSA
Preliminary note: This section concerns only the inter-workshops transports, the transport between the groups establishments located in Europe and that of the 97X items. The CKD parts transportation, that requires other limitations and have recourse to special conditioning techniques aren’t concerned. •
The inter-workshops transports within the same establishment must always be carried out under cover, in trailers or covered Lorries, even if the climatic conditions are mild. The stay of sheet metal in open air or exterior is totally prohibited.
For the inter-establishment transports all the container types are permitted. The transportation means (trailers, wagons) in which the containers are placed have to be perfectly sealed. During the journey, the containers or modules mustn't be removed from their means of transportation.
•
6. SUPPLEMENTARY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PROTECTIONS IN THE CKD FLOW
Preliminary note: The CKD flow means the flows existing between the Conditioning Shipment Workshops (CSE/ ACE) and the terminal plants. •
For certain logistic means, an additional oiling must be carried out on the parts by the conditioning and shipment site. This oil has to comply with the requirements of norme B74 6240, family 8 and its application must be carried out by spraying in an adapted oiling chamber.
The oil film must observe the same requirements as those described in paragraph 3, namely: • • •
to be uniform,
to guarantee a gramage ranging between 1.5 and 2 g/m2,
to be compatible with the manufacture procedures in the iron plating and painting workshops.
The list of logistic means requiring this supplementary oiling can be found in the technical reference (Sheet FI.03.001.E.CO) of LED package in the international flows, regularly updated. •
Otherwise either they have received a supplementary oiling or not, and either their destination, the parts must be packed with a material (covers and/or paper) owing corrosion inhibitory properties, in accordance with the technical specification quoted above.

Hygrometry notions
The air is a gaseous mixture that contains a variable amount of water vapors called atmospheric humidity. This atmospheric humidity is generally expressed in g.m-3 of air.
For a given temperature, the atmospheric humidity cannot be superior to a limit value called saturation value. Any supplementary quantity of water can exist only in condensed form (fog, dew or frost). The water vapor saturation value is given by the dew curve (see the figure below). Thus, at 20° C the maximum contents of water vapors in the air is 17.1 g.m-3.
Above the dew curve, the air isn't saturated of water vapors. Two important notions are then defined:• •
The dew point, which is the temperature at which the first condensations appear, when cooling down. The relative humidity - RH/HR (in %), which is the ratio between the water vapor concentration at a given temperature and the saturated water vapor concentration at the same temperature.
Thus, an air containing 9.4 g of water per m3 at 20°C temperature (point A) has a relative humidity of:
9,4HR==55%
17,1
If this air is cooled down until 5° C, from A to B, the relative humidity passes from 55 to 100 %, the condensation takes place between B and C and the quantity of condensed water is 9.4 – 6.8 = 2.6 in g.m-3 of air.
