摘要：An improved process for producing valproic acid from ethyl acetoacetate isdisclosed wherein both the dialkylation of ethylacetoacetate with propyl bromide andthe conversion of the dialkylester thus obtained to the corresponding salt take place in asingle step, in the presence of a phase-transfer catalyst, in a hydroalcoholic environment,and the salt is converted to valproic acid at pH 1-3.
