摘要：The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a metallic
component from a plurality of individual units which are arranged in a space-fillingarrangement in a canister . The canister will typically be a separate container, but it mayalso an endogenous canister obtained by applying laser welding to individual unitsarranged adjacent to outer surfaces of the arrangement so that these units are joined toform a shell of units which constitute the canister . Then heat and either high pressure orvacuum is applied so that at least a majority of the units are diffusion bonded together toform a rigid metallic component . Heat and high pressure may be applied by a hotisostatic press , and alternatively heat and vacuum may be applied by using a vacuumfurnace
