Great strides in people’s living standard great them more time and money to enjoy leisure. Though the total number of nationals in China is stipulated by law, heated discussions are still under the way about which one is more logical and beneficial to us,the”long holidays” or the “short holiday ”.The former means longer holiday concentrating around several well-celebrated festivals,while the latter means shorter holiday scattering over a number os less celebrated festivals.Personally,i vote for short holiday .
First,several year’ practice of long holiday have witnessed a great many problems and side effects.First of all ,when China adopts the “long holiday ”policy during Labor Day holiday and National Day holiday, there are so many people taking advantage of the long holiday to go on a tour.As a result, it be comes a common phenomenon that tourists in the scenic spots outnumber their holiday capacity ,thus to a large extent damaging the maintanance of the scenic spots ae well as the fun of sight-seeing.Besides a so-called post long holiday syndrome is prevailing among modern society. Suffering from it,people feel reluctant to return to work and take a long time to go back to the right track.
Second,if short holiday are put into practice, not only can these problems mentioned above be solved ,but also many advantages can be brought,For
example ,more festivals ,more festival will be remembered for the sake of having a holiday,thus more traditional Chinese traditions can be preserved .In some sense,It’s a good way to pass on Chinese culture. In a word,weighing the disadvantages and advantages caused by long holidays respectively, l’m in favor of the short ones,because they will ease the tension on the scenic spots and provide an opportunity to get familiar with Chinese culture.
