GeneralDescription

TheDS22/22AandDS23AareDualDifferentialLineDriverandReceiverpairs.Thesedevicesaredesignedspe-cificallyforapplicationsmeetingtheST506,ST412andESDIDiskDriveStandards.Inaddition,thedevicesmeettherequirementsoftheEIAStandardRS-422.

Thesedevicesofferaninputsensitivityof200mVovera±7Vcommonmodeoperatingrange.Hysteresisisincorpo-rated(typically70mV)toimprovenoisemarginforslowlychanginginputwaveforms.Aninputfail-safecircuitispro-videdsuchthatifthereceiverinputsareopentheoutputas-sumesthelogicalonestate.

TheDS22AandDS23Adriversaredesignedtoprovideunipolardifferentialdrivetotwistedpairorparallelwiretrans-missionlines.ComplementaryoutputsarelogicallyANDedandprovideanoutputskewof0.5ns(typ.)withpropagationdelaysof12ns.

BothdevicesfeatureTRI-STATEoutputs.TheDS22/22Ahaveindependentcontrolfunctionscommontoadriverandreceiverpair.TheDS23Ahasseparatedriverandreceivercontrolfunctions.

Powerup/downcircuitryisfeaturedwhichwillTRI-STATEtheoutputsandpreventerroneousglitchesonthetransmis-sionlinesduringsystempoweruporpowerdownoperation.TheDS22/22AandDS23Aaredesignedtobecompat-iblewithTTLandCMOS.
